Do Life Challenge - week 4

Write down four things you did well today.

  1. We made a turkey today. I wanted my grandparents to have this experience while they visiting us.
  2. Went out and did a 3 mile run.
  3. Emailed with my Do Life Buddies.
  4. Got started with some of the Do Life Budies goals.

3 mile run in 40 minutes. 10 minutes of challenges.

95 minutes done, 55 minutes to go. Total to do: 150 minutes

Thursday’s I try to make it to TRX class at my gym, but there were delays on the subway home from work and I just couldn’t make it. I was so annoyed, and when I realized I wasn’t going to make it i immediately thought, “to heck with it, I’m going home, I’m hungry and tired, and I’ve missed class anyways.” But then, I have buddies this week. Buddies I have to report to. Buddies I’ve set goals with and have to reach those goals with.

So I went. hooked up the TRX on my own and busted out a half hour of it. Then I hopped on the treadmill and did 30 minutes of hill intervals. I don’t think I’ve ever done hill intervals before. I do think I nearly puked.

I am so busy with my grandparents here that I never wrote about the Do Life Challenge week 4. Ben posted the following in the forum on Sunday.

There are no rules on how to connect, but it might be easiest to do so in this thread so that you can get an idea of who is connected and whatnot.

At first I wasn’t sure how I was going to do it but I found 2 Do Life Buddies. Yesterday I shared my 5 goals with them. And since I have 2 buddies I changed some goals - so I actually have more than 5.

  1. I want to run 4 or more times.
    I would love to say more but I am not sure  if I can get more many runs in this week with my grandparents still in town. Next week I am pretty sure I can do at least 3 runs. So 4 it is.

  2. I do not drink sodas at home.
    This is also one of my January goals form week 1. I really do like that stuff and it is hard not to drink it. Might need some extra motivation with this one.
     
  3. Sign up for one more race.
    I am signed up for the Gasparilla 15K at the first weekend of March. I would love to do another 10K - 13.1 mile race in April.
    I saw a 2 trail races but I am not sure if I can do that (I only run on a trail once). They have different distances at these events. One is a 5 or 10 mile run, the other is a 5 or 15K. All these trail races are part of the XTERRA trail runs. There was also a half marathon at the end of April I would love to do but the entry fee is $95. I guess I will talk to my coach and see what he thinks about the trail races and maybe I find a fellow runner to run one of these races with me.

  4. Keep doing the 100 push-up / 200 squat / 200 crunches challenges.
    I startes the challenges at the beginning of the year. I am at W2D3 right now. I thought I could be at the W4D2 at the end but when I wanted to do the challenges today they told me I had to re-do my test. So I guess I will be able to come until W4D1.

  5. I want to fulfill my January goal of loosing 4 lbs until the end of January.
    During week 1 I said one of my goals was to loose 4 lbs in January. Before my grandparents got here I was nearly there - 3.5 lbs down. Now I feel like I gained it all back (not actually sure since I did not weight myself). I will make smart choices when we go and eat out. I will not finish my plate I am not hungry anymore.
    This is also a goal I need help with since eating well is sometimes most of the time a struggle for me.
     
  6. I want to work though the first 1000 pictures of my iPhoto library.
    Ok, I know this is not a health related goal. But it is one of my new year resolutions (in lack of a better word). I got 35,000 pictures in there and somewhere in my library is an error. I comes out every now and then. Restoring the library did no good, the error is still there. After debating with myself for nearly half a year I decided to rebuilt my whole library. I will export all the pictures, import them into a new, clean library. That means I will loose all my edits and all my information. I have to add that again -
     I will have to tag all the faces, add places (location information) as well as ratings and keywords.
    I hope it’s okay adding a non-health/fitness related goal in there but this is such a huge project that I feel a little overwhelmed and I have not even started yet.

I can’t wait to get started and see how this goes with having 2 Do Life Buddies for help.

Do Life Challenge - week 4

  Ok, I totally forgot to publish this yesterday. Sorry about that. Write down four things you did well today yesterday.  

  1. We went to Ybor City and Channelside.
  2. Emailed my two Do Life buddies and exchanged my goals with them.
  3. Ordered fish with rice for dinner. And I added fries as my second side instead of some veggies. The second part wasn’t very smart, I know.
  4. Brought my husband dinner since he did not went with us to the restaurant.

No exercise except for walking around Ybor and Channelside.

 

45 minutes done, 105 minutes to go. Total to do: 150 minutes

 

who replied to my question about good iPhone apps a few days ago. I just got a few of the suggestion and now I will see if I like them.

If you have more suggestions, I am still open for them. ?

Do Life Challenge - week 4

Write down four things you did well today:  

  1. I went for a run. 3.5 miles that hurt and weren’t fun but I am very happy I finished it anyway.
  2. Didn’t give in to the temptation of eating more than necessary. After our appetizer I was feeling so full already that I changed my main meal to a soup. Best decision ever today.
  3. Saw lots of manatees today.
  4. Went to the apple store and got my macbook checked out. They don’t know what’s going on but at least now they know about it. We will see if the error will show up again.

I ran 3.5 miles in 45:33 minutes.

45 minutes done, 105 minutes to go. Total to do: 150 minutes

Today I finally found the time to get out and run. I did 3.5 miles. Every step was hard. The whole time I was running I felt like having concrete blocks instead of legs. Not sure why that happened. I had my iPhone with me and took some pictures for you.

Heute hab ich endlich Zeit gefunden um zu laufen. 3.5 Meilen lang. Jeder Schritt was schwer. Ich hab mich die ganze Zeit gefühlt, als ob ich Betonklötze an den Beinen hätte. Keine Ahnung, warum ich mich so gefühlt habe. Ich hatte mein iPhone dabei und hab ein paar Bilder gemacht.
