iPad buying experience
Like I posted yesterday Norbert & I waited in the line at the Brandon Apple Store for the iPad. He was there early and since I did not want to buy one I joined him in the line. And while we waited in the line we got coffee and water for free. And some cookies as well. The Apple people really took care of each and everybody.
They had two lines in front of the store. One line was for the people who pre-ordered an iPad and the other was for people who just showed up to buy one. The pre-order line started to move first. But soon afterwards our line started to move too.
When you were first in line the store associate ask for your name, talked a bit to you and then directed you to the next available person to sell you an iPad and what ever you need. You not just went inside the store and bought an iPad. No, first you bought it. Then they set it up for you and afterwards you went to an workshop where they explained on how to use it.
Norbert bought one and I was allowed to play with it afterwards. This thing is spectacular, I think. The browsing with Safari is super fast. You enter your MobileMe-Email and schwups you have all you contacts, galleries, emails and calendars. Fast as well. The iBook Store looks really nice and you can change the font to the one you want and you can change the size as well. You can easily read something on it. I started playing one or two different games at the Store before we left and it is totally different than playing on the iPhone. The screen is sooo much bigger. We even made Skype-calls with it while we had an WiFi network. Anyway - we had a lot of fun with it and the Apple People did their thing to it.
Even if I did not bought one I enjoyed the experience a lot…

Ich hab gestern kurz geschrieben, dass Norbert und ich in der Schlage vor dem Apple Store stehen, weil das iPad rauskommt. Norbert war früher als ich da und - da ich kein iPad kaufen wollte - hab ich mich zu ihm in die Schlange gestellt. Apple hat uns gut mit Kaffee und Wasser vorsorgt und mit Kaffeestückchen von Panera Berat. Die Apple Leute haben sich echt Mühe gegeben…
Es gab 2 Schlangen vor dem Store. Die erste war für Leute, die das iPad vorbestellt hatten und die zweite für Leute, die einfach so vorbei kamen bzw. es nicht vorbestellt hatten… Die Vorbestell-Schlange begann sich als erstes zu bewegen aber nicht lange danach bewegte sich auch unsere Schlange.
Als wir dann an erster Stelle waren, hat uns die Apple Mitarbeiterin nach den Namen gefragt, ein bisschen mit uns gequatscht und uns dann an den nächsten freien Apple Mitarbeiter im Laden weitergereicht. Diese Mitarbeiterin hat Norbert dann das iPad und etwas Zubehör verkauft. Aber dann warst du nicht fertig und konntest gehen. Nein, zuerst musstest du zum nächsten Mitarbeiter. Bei diesem hat Norbert das iPad ausgepackt und er hat es dann am Mac eingerichtet. Danach war man immer noch nicht fertig, da man dann noch einen iPad Workshop besuchen sollte. Dort wurde einen dann erklärt, wie das iPad funktioniert, wo die einzelnen Knöpfe sind und wozu sie gut sind etc. pp.
Norbert hat mir dann erlaubt mit seinem iPad etwas herum zu spielen… Das Teil ist echt genial. Super. Das Internet surfen mit Safari ist super schnell. Du gibst deine MobileMe-Email ein und schwuppdiwupp sind deine Kontakte, Kalender, Gallerien und Emails auf dem iPad. Superschnell. Der iBook Store sieht schön aus und man kann die Schrift verstellen. Im Store hab ich noch ein, zwei Spiele gespielt. Auch das geht super gut. Und total anders als mit dem iPhone. Der Bildschirm von dem iPad ist sooo gross im Verhältnis zum iPhone. Wir haben sogar einen Skype-Anruf gemacht, als wir uns in einem WiFi-Netzwerk befanden. Wie auch immer - wir hatten viel Spass mit dem Teil.
Und auch wenn ich kein iPad gekauft habe, ich hab dieses ganze Einkaufserlebnis genossen…
