Gasparilla Distance Classic 5+3K recap
I was at the start of the race and had a good 15 min wait left when suddenly people with pace group signs started showing up. I was standing in the 8:30 pace group and managed to get back to the 9:00 pace group. I wanted to be with the 12:00 pace group but there was no way I could go back through all these people. So I decided to start with that fast group but run my own pace and let people pass...

Tonight is our track workout and it is my last workout before the 5+3K Gasparilla race on Sunday. But I am going to skip the track workout and just do 3 or 4 miles. Not sure yet. It will depend on the time I need to my miles and at what time the others will finish. After the workout we will go to get some food together.

I have not been writing anything during the last few days. I had a lazy weekend - mostly spent reading some books. On Sunday I did a 4 miler thanks to new runner J. She encouraged me to go for 4 miles instead of “just” 3. Today I did another 3 miler and on Sunday I will have my big race - the Gasparilla 5+3K. Can’t wait for this to happen. On Thursday I will run another few miles...

track workout
Last night I did my track workout and it was great - at least most of it. I did 5 repeats of 0.25 miles. I always did 4 repeats so this is the first time I did 5. Yeah. After the 4th repeat I felt like throwing up (no, I actually didn’t) but I learned not to eat ice cream before a run.
Now I will get ready and I try to tackle the 6 miles again. Maybe today I am able to go and do...

No workout for 3 days :-(
From Monday till today I wasn’t able to get my runs in. Every day I had so much to do that I didn’t fine the time. I feel bad about it and now I can’t wait for tomorrows track workout. Since I had a three day break I should be able to do pretty well.

I spent most of my day at the car mechanic.
My car was starting to have problems on Saturday. On Thursday last I picked it up from the mechanic and it was running fine. On Saturday it made weird noises and we - my husband and me - decided not to use it over the weekend and bring it to the mechanic today. Track workout. Done.
I did my track workout earlier this evening (and yes I know it’s kinda late ahhh early). I did a mile warmup followed by 5x1 laps fast running with one recovery lap in between followed by a mile cool down. Glad I got it done. I was really tired afterwards.
My right shin was hurting during warmup and I have no idea why. Thank god it’s ok now. Did you ever had problems with your shins?

I nearly did it.
Earlier I wrote I try to do a 6 miler today. I ran 5.74 miles. Didn’t make it to six but this is a personal best anyway. Never run that far before. Now I am taking it easy with my legs and get them some rest.

I got my car back - but I have to get a new water pump. The old one is leaking coolant. Now I have to wait till Monday and then I can bring the car to the mechanic to get it fixed. Ok, no driving for me on the weekend - I don’t want to risk that something else will break too.
I am a bit frustrated by all the money I now have to spent on the car. I guess I will go and get my speed workout...

Broken car
My car is at the mechanic right now and they try to figure out why it looses coolant. The warning light came on on Sunday and again yesterday. So there is obviously something wrong with the car. I just hope it won’t be to expensive to fix it. Keep your fingers crossed.
