I did my first 10 miler this morning. I ran 10.05 miles in 2:31 hours. I am so proud that I made it that far. Less than a year ago I started running and I was not able to run more than a minute at the time. That is a great accomplishment.

My legs feel sore and I elevate them a bit while I am going to read a book. Hopefully they feel better tomorrow.

Ich hab heute morgen meinen ersten 10 Meiler gelaufen. 10.05 Meilen in 2:31 Stunden.

I am back at my computer. I had a great class on the weekend. It was the Healing Touch Level 2 and I loved it. Can’t wait to do Level 3. I learned a lot but did not have much time for other things this weekend.

Today I was busy doing stuff around the house / on the computer and I am glad I got nearly everything important done. Some things are left to do but I will start with that tomorrow or on Wednesday.

“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.” —

This is my problem! I always wait. No more.

long run done

I had to do my long run tonight instead of tomorrow morning. I have a class this weekend and no time to run then.

I just ran 8.2 miles in the dark all by myself. Part of the run felt like an obstacle course. They “forget” to cut the trees/grass near the walkway for the pedestrians and I had to run zig zag around that stuff. All in the dark just wearing a head lamp. *shake my head* Yesterday a track me legs felt like big heavy concrete blocks and I couldn’t even run 3 easy miles. I stopped after 1.5 miles. I am glad I got the rest and todays run felt totally different. Sometimes I surprised how much a bit more rest can change your performance. I am so glad I got the miles in. Now I do not have to worry about it. My legs earned their 3 rest days since I won’t be out running until Tuesday night.

I wish everybody a wonderful weekend. I won’t be much at the computer since my class goes from 9am to 7pm. See you all next week.

goulash recipe for @robindoesrunning

and whoever else is interested in it. I hope I translated it in a way you can easily understand the instructions. If you have any question or something is unclear let me know.

Gulasch Rezept (goulash recipe)

ingredients

1 lbs. meat (I used pork but you can use pork, beef or a mix of both)
1 medium onion
max 4 cups of hot water
1 small piece of butter
pepper, salt, paprika
oil

preparation

Cut meat into 1 inch pieces and chop the onions.
Heat oil in a pan.
When the oil is hot put the meat in and sear the meat.
Then add some pepper, salt and paprika to season the meat.
After that add the chopped onions and cook until they are brown.
Add 3/4 of the hot water, then add the salt, pepper and paprika again and stir to mix everything.
Let cook for 20-25 minutes and stir occasionally.
Add more water as needed. Add more seasoning if desired/needed.

We eat this with pasta, potatoes or dumplings.
