I can’t believe we already in week 7 of the Do Life Challenge. And I am starting very late into this weeks challenge. I read it in the Do Life forum but I did not post about it. I think this will be a hard week for since food is my big struggle area.
Write a lost of your trouble foods. What do you habitually struggle with?
My food I struggle with are chocolate, soda, anything sweet (but again mostly chocolate). I am still cutting out soda at home but I still drink it outside. But even there I try to cut it out as much as possible. I love chocolate and nutella and Prinzenrolle and so many other things. Some weeks I am good with eating, some weeks are bad. Not sure what the triggers are to make me eat more chocolate.
Stay away from these foods this week. We will make this a long-term commitment, but for now focus on making it through the next six days without those foods.
I am not sure if I can do this. I tried it before and cutting all the sweets out just make me go nuts. I can do it for a few days but not forever. Then I will carve them so much that I just eat about everything. So for me the keyword is moderation.
Talk grocery lists with your buddy.
My husband went shopping on Saturday. So actually I wouldn’t need to go and buy more stuff but I will talk about grocery lists with my buddies.
Write down three foods you’ve never eaten. Ever. Something you’ve always been scared to try.
Good question. I have no idea what kind of things I have not tried. But I will think about it. Actually I have been thinking about it since I read this in the forums on Monday.
Eat two of those foods this week. Look up a recipe and create it. Eat it, write down your thoughts about it. You may or may not share this with the group during submissions.
Ok, since I don’t know which foods I have never eaten I don’t know which 2 I will try this week.
FOCUG ON EATING. Count calories if that’s what you are comfortable with. Just be vigilant.
To tell the truth I have not been counting calories for a few days. I have to get back into that habit. NOW.
Stay accountable to your buddy. We all know food is tough; we’ll need a friend this week.
Pushups, planks, jumping jacks. Stick with your exercise routines, but this week is all about food.
I just did 40 pushups. Yesterday I went for a run, next planned run is tomorrow. A race on Saturday morning. Recovery run on Sunday afternoon.
Try to eat in. Make it fun. Find great healthy recipes. Cook with friends and family. Cook with your kids or your significant other.
This will be hard this week. This week I have something going on every evening and most of the time I won’t be home until 9pm. So I am not sure if eating in will happen all the time. We’ll see…
I am a bit afraid about this weeks challenge. Did I mention that food is not my good area? I am willing to learn. Willing to start new. But it is hard, as well all know. It’s hard to break old habits, old patterns. So let’s see how this week will go…
