What are you doing on May 19th? There is a 5K run to support the Bloomingdale Library Survior and I would love to run it. But I am out of the country and can’t do it. Now I make some advertisement for the race and hope you can do it.
If you are in the area and have time - go run it. Check out the links below.
And yes, I know I posted the same thing a few weeks ago. Just a little reminder…
This picture shows me at the St. Wendel Team Marathon a week ago. One of my team mates took this pictures before they all joined me to run the last few hundred yards with me to the finish line.
And yes, I still own you the race recap for this race.
Yesterday I ran the Gutenberg half marathon in Mainz, Germany. A friend of mine wasn’t able to run it and she offered me her bib. I will post a long recap later but to make the story short: I had a HUGE PR.
I crossed the finish line in 2:59:55 - a sub-3 time and something I thought wasn’t possible yesterday until I hit mile 11.5. My 2-week-old PR from IronGirl was 3:10:53.
I know I still own you the race recap from last Sunday and it is still a work in progress. It will come. I promise.
Today I got the offer to run a half on Sunday. One of my friends is sick and had surgery today. She can’t run on Sunday and offered me her spot. I talked to the organizers - and I can change her entry to me if I pay a small fee before picking up the race bibs. Now I will run a half in Germany. That is one thing from my 101 things in 1001 days list. I am not happy that my friend is sick but I am happy I got this opportunity. I don’t plan on racing it - I will make it a fun thing and my goal will be to finish. If I get a new PR, I will be very happy but I doubt it. Not with my last half less than 2 weeks ago and the marathon relay just a few days ago.
Otherwise I am enjoying my time here in Germany. I spent lots of time with family and friends. Tonight I was at a birthday and tomorrow is another birthday celebration.
Now I have to go to bed (here it is already 1am) - my mom is going to wait for me at 9am for a 3 mile run.
We ran our marathon relay today. We finished in 4:37:51 and it was a fun thing to do. More about it later. I have to go outside since we are having a BBQ and everybody is waiting for me.
I ran the IronGirl half this morning and finished in 3:10:53. It was a tough course and I have no idea how I managed to get a PR. But I am happy about it. More about it later.
I finally remember that I took a picture of my IronGirl email to upload it here. It has all the important infos for the race in it. And I got my bib number too - 549. Just 8 more days until the race!

I can’t believe I just did this. I singed up for the Walt Disney World Marathon in January 2013. I am not sure what I was thinking when I pressed the “Pay Now” button…
Here’s the race recap from the Shamrock 10K I ran on Sunday. My parents are still in town and I am way behind on everything including blogging.
The race started at 8 am and I was feeling good. I just wanted to finish the race knowing that I will have a PR not matter what. It was my first 10K. There were - maybe - 200 people in the race and I feel back right after the start. Running within the last 10 spots. I didn’t care and continued my pace. It was a little fast but I tried to hold it.
Out on the course I saw all my running friends and the helped me a lot. This course is a 2 loop course and I knew I will see all of them again in loop number 2. After I finished the 1st loop I saw Sean and asked him to run with me at the end. I knew that I would be hurting and was happy to get every support I could. Even if it was just for the last .1 or .2 miles.
During the second loop I wasn’t looking at the distance. I just ran from friend A to friend B to friend C and so on. They all cheered on me and that helped a lot. I also picked up 2 runners during the first mile of loop 2 (mile 4 total). That made me push harder as well. I was so happy to see Sean at the end. His encouragement meant a lot and helped me to push through.
I finished with a time of 1:20:08 (chip time). I like that a lot. I though I would finish somewhere around 1:25 and this is a lot better. Afterwards I had a massage, some beer, water and pretzels. Nice chats with my friends. Overall a great time. Can’t wait to run this again next year.
In today’s 10K I ran a 1:20:08. That was nearly 5 min faster than I thought I would run. I am not sure how I managed to do it I don’t know. But I did it and that’s what’s counts. :-) it is also a PR since I never ran a 10K before.
Today I will run my first 10K race. It’s the Shamrock 10 and 5K and my running club is organizing them. I am ready to leave the house but my parents aren’t. I guess I have to wait a little longer. The 10K starts at 8am - so we have a little time.

Sorry it took me a few days to upload these pictures.
I ran with my parents and we had a great day. It was hot and humid and that made it hard for the runners. I am so glad with my time. I ran a 2:08:56 (chip time) and I am very happy with that. I thought I might be able to do a 2:10 or a 2:15 for the 15K. So a 2:08 is a great time for me, considering I my longest run was just 5 miles long.
I had a blast this weekend at Gasparilla. On Saturday I went out and ran the 15K. On Sunday I went out again to cheer on the others. Saturday was hot and humid, Sunday was cold and windy. I was very happy I did not have to run.
